Gennady Golovkin
|
Unbeaten 35 fights 32 KO's 22 KO's in a row, That's an incredible record even if the opposition is probably not as strong as it was in the 80's, for example. Where does he stand in the All time Middleweight Pantheon. then?

Superb fighter, can do it all, everything. When I watch him fight he reminds me a lot of Julio Cesar Chavez, brings the same wonderful compactness and economy of movement to the ring, same perfect balance and leverage, but with even more devastating power. Add to that he's as hard as fucking nails and obviously has a granite chin. Really hope him and Alvarez can get together.
Just as a footnote if his amateur career is 'decent' then fuck knows what an outstanding one looks like.

'If he brought the revenue in for top fighters to fight him then they would fight.'
You do realise he is with Hbo, and is one of the biggest draws in America, don't you? If he was involved in a superfight, him and his opponent would never have to fight again.

Russ he was average as far as no one see him being where he is today and as I said he was knocking out nobodies. Yeah a lot of it was down to his stable but no one would have guessed he would go on like he has.
I think I read somewhere that Sanchez was totally shocked by GGG commitment and desire to be the best in his division.
I think he will fight Jacobs in the summer and then the big fight with Alvarez will happen with him if he beats Jacobs.

"Before 2011 he was pretty average"
I wouldn't say he was average. He was very poorly managed and wasn't given the opportunities he deserved by his stable.
Agreed he has become much, much better since being coached by Sanchez but to say he was average is ridiculous.
It's a bit like saying Suarez was shit before he joined Barcelona.

So what you are saying is that for the money fighting him would bring in it's not worth risking losing to him?
That's ducking him.

Alvarez won't fight him and Ward have moved up weight so he can only fight what's in front of him. Jacobs and Billy Joe Saunders and Eubank Jnr are possible fights for him but GGG is another level to those fighters at the moment. The dull aspect of boxing these days is they spend large parts of career avoiding each other.

How would beating Golovkin over 2 years ago prove anything?
He was a 32 year old middleweight knocking out nobodies.
Now he's starting to earn his shot at the elite the big money fight will happen.
Before 2011 he was pretty average, it was only when he went with Abel Sanchez and they changed his style to a more aggressive Mexican style fighter that he showed real promise.

No I don't agree.
If he brought the revenue in for top fighters to fight him then they would fight.
Up till now he hasn't been capable of that.......why would they fight him?

Golovkin added me on Facebook.
But whatever.
Love him as a fighter and person. Think he'll prove himself the best around.

What a load of bollocks...."Top fighters have been ducking him" No top fighter worth their salt ducks a fight unless it doesn't make financial sense......and in my opinion thats not ducking it, it's being sensible.
So you say they haven't been ducking him but then say they have.....But call it sensible.
So you actually agree then?

He was going to be as famous until he got to America but his fight vs Lemuiex was the fastest sell out for a fight at Madison Square Garden in history.
BJS will show some heard but the power GGG has will take care of him in the middle rounds.
Jacobs, see above.
Alvarez...hmm. This will be one of the biggest fights in boxing history IMO. Both men are natural middleweights, both champions and both love to fight.
I think Golovkin wins, then maybe a step up to Super Middleweight next or maybe light heavy for Andre Ward.

Only now is Golovkin beggining to make a name for himself(at 34 i might add) so I guess a big fight is on the cards soon.
Let's see how he gets on amongst the elite.
The perfect fight for him next will be Jacobs.
If he beats him then he deserves alvarez.
Personally I'm not sure Golovkin will beat Jacobs.

he's not reached the top fighters as none of them will fight him
and he "supports" West Ham, we know you don't like sportsmen that do that!

Golovkin is an animal. About time he went in with the big names. I think it's a shame he's not more well known. He deserves to be with his power and talent. He's fucking lethal.
